MerdaStone

A natural-stone brand site built to sell texture and craft, not just list products

MerdaStone

Overview

MerdaStone's homepage is full-bleed photography doing the selling. A marble kitchen counter with visible veining fills the screen, paired with the tagline 'Stone The Shape Vision' and a secondary line, 'Custom Homes with timeless elegance', instead of a generic product-grid hero.

The navigation is built for a materials business specifically: Products, About Us, Projects, Catalogs, Contact. That matters because natural stone is a texture-and-craft product, and it photographs badly in generic e-commerce templates. Buyers need to feel the material and see it in real installations before they'll request a quote.

The Projects section shows real installed work. The Catalogs section covers the offline, PDF-driven side of B2B materials sales, where the actual purchase decision often happens away from the page. Both reflect how this industry actually sells, instead of forcing a stone supplier into a generic online-store structure.

Under the hood it's a WordPress build, themed to match the material photography instead of a stock layout. It's containerized with Docker and deployed on a self-managed server, so updates ship through a repeatable, versioned deployment instead of a shared hosting panel.

The problem

Natural stone is a texture-and-craft product, and it photographs badly in generic product-grid templates. Buyers need to feel the material and see it in real installations before they'll request a quote or catalog.

The approach

A full-bleed, photography-led WordPress site structured around Products, Projects, and downloadable Catalogs. It's custom-themed to the brand and containerized with Docker for a repeatable, versioned deployment on a self-managed server.

Key features

  • A full-bleed hero photography carousel showcasing material veining and finish, not stock icons
  • A dedicated Projects section for real installed work, the credibility layer a materials buyer actually checks
  • A downloadable Catalogs section for the offline, PDF-driven B2B buying flow common in the materials industry
  • A clean, dual-logo header suited to a business that also prints on physical materials and signage
  • WordPress CMS, custom-themed around the material photography instead of a stock layout
  • Containerized with Docker and deployed on a self-managed server for repeatable, versioned releases instead of shared hosting
