Saveur

Order local, eat well. A hyperlocal food-ordering marketplace built for Saint-Étienne.

Saveur

Overview

Saveur's hero is full-bleed food photography under 'Commandez local, mangez bien' (order local, eat well), with a city selector defaulting to Saint-Étienne. It's not a generic 'enter your address' flow. It's anchored to the actual city this portfolio's author lives and studies in.

A trust-signal row sits directly under the search bar: 4.8 star average rating, 2 minutes to order, 500+ establishments. That's the same pattern real delivery marketplaces use to reduce first-visit hesitation before a user has ordered anything at all.

Category shortcuts (Café, Kebab, Pizza, Fast Food, Cuisine du monde, Desserts) turn the homepage straight into a browsing surface instead of forcing a search first. A 'Créer mon restaurant' entry point gives independent restaurants a self-serve path onto the platform, the supply side of a two-sided marketplace, built with the same care as the demand side.

The problem

Independent, local restaurants in a mid-size French city are underserved by the big national delivery platforms. Those platforms bias toward chains and charge fees that make hyperlocal spots hard to justify listing.

The approach

A city-first, hyperlocal ordering marketplace anchored to Saint-Étienne instead of a generic address-first flow, with category-led browsing and a self-serve restaurant onboarding path.

Key features

  • A city-anchored homepage (Saint-Étienne) instead of a generic address-first flow
  • A prominent trust-signal row: average rating, time-to-order, and establishment count, all above the fold
  • Category shortcuts for immediate browsing: café, kebab, pizza, fast food, world cuisine, desserts
  • A self-serve 'Créer mon restaurant' onboarding path for the supply side of the marketplace
  • A trending 'Établissements populaires' section for social-proof-driven discovery
  • Full French-language UX with a locale switcher built in
